North

In the northern most reaches of Valyria stands The Spine. A large mountain range that stretches for what seem endless miles. The freezing and harsh temperatures here mean the land is almost always covered in snow of some kind. The mountains are speckled with tall pine trees that grow thicker as you head further south. There are rumors of dragons making their home in the highest peaks. The Jawbone is a massive bay that stretches out into open ocean. It divides the mountain range inland for several hundred miles. The bay has a few ports that can be used during the warmer months. The bay itself holds many legends of ancient sea serpents and dragons. When winter comes though it becomes impossible due to the formation of The Iceflow Bridge that joins to the two sides of the mountainous terrain. This is a bridge between the two sections in the northern most part of Valyria. The Iceflow only forms at certain times, generally when the weather is coldest but it has been known to answer the call of the gods at times as well. Without the bridge it takes about a day to two days via boat to get to the other side.

South of the mountains lies The Silent Forest, a thick and heavy woodland of pine trees. It’s edges creep along the Jawbone bay. The forest is usually covered in thick blankets of snow, much like the heavy northern mountain ranges. With how vast and thick it is, it can become quite disorientating to those who are unfamiliar with its terrain, making an excellent barricade for the smaller northern settlements. There are rumors of rare creatures and herbs somewhere deep in the woodland here. If you stumble into silence, it’s said to be a warning. Deep in the forest there are many known Ice Caves. A small opening leads down into tunnels that travel through various glaciers and underground caverns. The walls seem illuminated with a haunting blue glow. The place is believed to be heavily enchanted, and a source of an altar for the gods for those who seek them. Moving further south, one may find The Lake of the Lost. This lake is frozen most times out of the year. It occasionally will thaw out though, with no effect from the temperature or season. When it does it’s believed to be a sign from the gods, and may offer a blessing or a curse.

The ancient forest, most commonly known as The Whispering Wood is believed by many to be a sacred place. The forest surrounds the ancient grounds of the Sunspear. The trees here are tall and thick, their trunks and limbs a bone white. Most startling though is the large faces that peer from their trunks. The faces are known to change direction and expression, but their movement has never been witnessed. Some believe these to be the faces of the gods themselves, others believe them to be lost Oracles and Wardens of the Council of Mithras. Still many other myths and stories exist about the ancient wood. At the center of the forest lies The Sunspear. This is the ancient keep belonging to the Council of Mithras. The stronghold, much like the forest surrounding it, is a pale white. It was constructed from ancient stone, embedded by runework meant to keep those inside of it's wall safe. The keep is always a busy place, with most all of the members calling this place their main home. The keep gets it's name from a great golden spire that stands in the courtyard, acting as a sundial and aligns with planetary movement. It marks a great convergent point in the leylines, amplifying the residences natural abilities and power.

The Caldor Forest is one of the stranger places in Valyria. Instead of trees, mushrooms grow here in a variety of abnormally tall sizes and colors. They can reach heights of up to thirty feet, their colors ranging in all shades of the rainbow. Some of the larger mushrooms have been carefully sculpted and finished in their bases to become homes. Many small villages have formed in the massive forest for its multiple resources. There are helpful herbs that grow nowhere else in the world but here. Surrounding the strange lands here are the Amethyst Mountains. This mountain range is made up of grand purple mountains that surround the terrain, making it difficult to access the forest. The trees that grow here are of a similar shade along with other light pinks and purples in color. The animal's here are also said to come in many odd colors. Flowing through the beautiful terrain is the legendary Elywe River. This river runs from a massive lake, known by the same name, that is hidden in the mountain range to the north. The water here is a deep sapphire, and seems to always be a warm temperature. It's rumored to have healing properties and is often taken and sold in various towns at a very high cost.
East

To the far east, beyond the land mass lies the The Sea of Wrath, so named for it is the place Irivinia was thrown by Bastus after her birth. The waters here are known to be particularly stormy, the waves reaching tall peaks that have sunk many a brave ship. There are many legends of great sea beasts as well, coming to feast on those lose souls aboard their vessels. It is here where Aedion Palace sits many meters beneath the great waves. Sinking down into the depths you may find peace from the harsh current above. The palace is formed mostly from coral reef and rough stone work jutting from the ocean floor. It is home to many beautiful plants, fish and the fame merpeople of Aedion.

In the far east lies the city of Credia. While it isn’t the only underwater city composed almost entirely of the husks of sunken wooden ships, it is the largest. Serving as the capital of the Aevum Dominion it expands deep below the waves surrounding the Summer Isles, dark depths of various trenches expanding downwards. Along their edges there are numerous gathered vessels, lit up and bridging the gaps between as any city would have streets built alongside their buildings. Various coral reefs also crown Credia, tall seaweed outcroppings giving an almost eerie appearance of dancing shadows beyond the city’s bright lights. Deep within the trenches lies the Altar of Irivinia. A powerful source of magic, the place the goddess was cast to the water and claimed her power over the seas and killed the ancient sea dragon Hepitae. It lies deep within a cave, it's wall lit with bioluminescent runes.

One of the largest mountain ranges in the country is the Ostrinus Mountains. They stretch along a wide berth of terrain. Despite their size, their peaks are smaller then their northern counter parts, making them more green and lush. Many rich waterways run through here, creating twisting pathways that feed down into valleys. These deep valleys are known as the Sunlands. These areas are full of fertile flat terrain, making it excellent farmland. They are often well sheltered, hidden in the foothills. In the far east, sets The Citadel. The Citadel was formed many years ago for those that seek knowledge above all else. Many come here to learn and worship, taking no spouses and creating no children. They are meant to form no alliances and follow all gods, although Atume is a very prevalent and favored deity here.

Hovering over the lands of Valyria are the Moonmoor Islands. There are many legends about the how and why of the islands. The most common is that they are a fracture of the moon that came to be suspended here. Part of that mythos is the origin of the Pegasus and Alicorn species, which are most prevalent here. The islands here do have a few small towns and cities on them. Many of the individuals here are believed to be of some celestial bloodlines. The tallest peak is home to Celista Castle. The castle is not nearly as large as those built on lands, but has stood in governance over the land here for centuries. The castle has many legends, one being that the god of weather once called it their home. It's surface seems to change with the conditions, but many believe its just a very reflective crystal surface. Below the floating mountains is the town of Mistveil. The town here has prospered greatly due to its locations, surrounded by fertile land and guarded by the floating lands above. That is partly how it gained it's name, for the heavy mist and water that seems to constantly run off the edges of the floating islands. It can be difficult to find in certain weather for this reason. The town itself is a large center of trade, and one of the few places in the world to find well known pegasus and alicorn breeders. It is well known for the races of these species.

Taking up a larger part of the eastern territories is a massive pine forest known as Aranea Wildwood. The forest here, despite it's size and resources, is mostly uninhabited by humans. There are tell tale signs of strange creatures here. The most well known is that of the giant spiders that call this place home. They are said to communicate telepathically, speaking with inhuman voices into the minds of those who dare disturb them. They make their homes in massive burrows underground that are often hard to see from the surface, making it easy to jump out and surprise their prey. The trees are covered in massive spider webs. These spidersilk webs are incredibly sturdy, stronger then many metals, and used to make a variety of tools and weapons to those brave enough to go and harvest them. Near it's core sets a place known as The Nest. This is the home to the Queens of the spiders. Their size can be larger then elephants. The ground here is littered with bones and other such remnants.
West

Setting in the very center almost of Valyria is Ironwood Keep. The Keep is the largest castle in the country, surrounded by a larger waterway. The castle itself is built inside a hill with tall towers overlooking the whole island. The castle is most famous for having been burned down in a previous attack many years ago. Rebuilding was done mostly underground, with just several towers jutting up from the hillside. To the south sets Gravesend, possibly the largest settlement in all of Valyria. The city itself is massive, boasting a wide avenue for trade and commerce. There are well known places to visit here, such as The Old Oak, an inn and tavern, The Sly Witch, an apothecary and potions shop, and the Jade Tiger, a brothel known around the world for it's beauty and dark secrets. The large waterway around it, known as the Bay of Burning, gained its name for the same attack when the keep was lit aflame, engulfing the castle and most of the people on the island. It's said the surface burned and the water boiled that day. The Bay feeds down into a large river way known as The Shipbreaker. The river way here gained it's name for the difficult lands it travels through on either side and its rather rough waters.

To the western areas of Valyria sits Arindor Swamp. The swamp is a strange and beautiful place, thickly packed with trees, heavily marked in ancient runework. The runes are part of how these trees have grown into strange and almost abnormal patterns, manipulated by long lived ancient tribes that have called the swamp home for generations. The trunks have formed flat surfaces that small buildings have been constructed on, and others shaped to grow near hollow so that dwellings have been formed inside. The largest among these is known as Pax Tree. Pax Tree is hundreds of years old, taller and wider than any other tree that grows in Valyria and is a common children story. It's a large central hub housing numerous families. The trunk is hollowed out in many places to form both common and individual family dwelling places. The glowing green waterways lead to the land dwellings of Canomeda. This is a rather large city, made almost entirely of crude tent like structures. They weave their way through the trees, thick rope bridges suspended over the waterways to reach different parts of the city. To the tribes of Canomeda, this is a sacred place.

South of the rich swamp lands lies a land known now only as The Wastes. This land was once beautiful rolling valleys, surrounded by low green mountains. It was known for it's wildflower fields, its rich game. A place said to be so beautiful it was the home of the old gods brought to Valyria. It is believed this place is where the Long Night was started by The Order of Malum. It became a place devoid of most all life, a barren waste. A deep chasm opened in the middle, splitting the land in half. Eerie glowing portals seem to open at random in the ground, releasing hoards of Shades. One of the few places left is Galadhor, though it's little to speak of now. It was once a beautiful castle, holding an ancient altar site to Gaia, the Mother. Since the the breaking of the leylines though, this one large single tower is all that remains of the once beautiful keep, a home to monsters.

Merging down into more southern terrain sits Castle Gavaria. It was once home to an order of Dragonriders, it's original name lost to time and war. The high towers are wide and open made for the great beasts to land on its ledges, with easy passage ways down into the tunnels far below. The center courtyard, known as the dragon pit, is uncovered, wide and massive to allow the beasts free movement. The land here was once lush and fertile, but the Order of Malus swiftly and carefully took over this once beautiful place. The dark nature of their power corroding the land away into what it now appears. Barren and empty, the lands around the castle are known as The Boneyard. It is littered with all manner of skeletons, but most notable are that of the great dragons who once called this place home. Standing next to the castle is The Eye. It is a towering beacon of raw energy that seems to keep the more malicious and untamable shades at bay – those that wander into the obsidian expanse drawn by all the recent death inflicted and destruction wrought. This almost eye-like orb also looms as a mockery in the darkness surrounding it, perceivable for many miles in all directions.

To the far east lies a land known as The Veil. The lands are known as a shadowlands, a place haunted by beasts both known and unknown. Even before the sun was lost to us, this land was cloaked in darkness. Everything is covered in a thick ever present mist that makes it difficult to even see the ground beneath ones feet. Rumors say the mist has some sentience, playing tricks on the mind and leading those who wonder here astray. Living in the vast shadowlands sits the small village of Ghoratha. It's the only area known to have inhabitants here. It certainly doesn't stop travelers from trying to make it to Heartsblood, a well known lake said to be hidden in the deepest part of the woondland. The lake is said to be a deep crystal blue, it's surface shimmering like liquid stars. Legends speak that those who make it to the water may be granted great abilities or rare items. Others warn of a great guardian that lurks in it's depths, taking sacrifices of those who seek it's favor.
South

One of the furthest points on the continent is known as The Forge. The lands here were said to have been rather lush, a continuation of the Elysian fields at one point. It held a rather grand alter to the gods that drew patrons from all over. There are rumors a priest fell to the greedy pursuit of more power and welcomed a shade into their heart, bleeding themselves at one of the altars inviting darker forces into her home and angering Gaia. As beautiful and full of life that her creation can be, the destructive force of nature is just as absolute. Thunderstorms and hurricanes assaulted the peninsula for a fortnight in a very unnatural way, earthquakes shifting the earth beneath the waves in devastating shifts. Volcanoes and rough terrain emerged like jagged teeth, releasing the lava from within. While they erupted they burned away the rest of whatever or whoever survived. There is nobody alive today that can corroborate this story, but regardless the way the landscape changed over the thousands of years is certainly unmistakable. Only recently have the volcanoes begun to liven, lava and magma alike flowing throughout the land like angry veins. Some say it’s the Long Night’s doing, or the disrupted dragons said to be living within the earth, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Even with the lands destruction, it's rumored one may find rare creatures and resources here.

Sitting on the shores of Darkwater Bay is a truly massive military city known as Ravenore Fort. The fort has grown over the years from a simple wooden structure into the nearly castle like formation it is today, mostly in need to protect the main land from pirate invasions. Within it's vast walls have settled many military families as well as regular townsfolk who feel safer compared to the open fields beyond. The vast yard within has formed it's own small town with a variety of shops and trade happening. Guarding the bay is a massive statue of the god Hathor. Along the mainland is a large stretch of fertile lands known as the Elysian Fields. It's a general name for land filled with numerous small villages and large farm lands. It is one of the most resource rich places in the lands of Valyria. Unfortunately due to that its a prime target for raiders from the pirate islands to the southeast. Because of this, far to the south lies The Outpost. A rather unoriginal name for a smaller scale military fort known for its rather rouge nature of dealing with invaders, citizens and the like.

One of the largest regions in Valyria is The Suncradle. It is a vast desert, home to many mythos. Like many deserts it is known for its hot temperatures and dry climate almost all year round. With the Long Night, temperatures here have plummeted though, randing around 20 degrees. Deep in the desert lies The Agora. It's a very well known marketplace due to its large size and dark underbelly. It's said that anything one wishes to buy can be found here, if one only knows where to look or who to ask. Its history is muddled in blood, guarded by an ancient society that formed here due to one of the large sources of water that can be found here. The desert is also home to Atume’s Library. The library is ancient, spanning back before time was even fully documented. Though the surface level is full of beautiful white columns and spanning desks, its caverns move deep underground into infinite darkness. Shelves seem to travel for miles downward. Has anyone really been to the bottom? In the northern reaches of the desert is the Oasis Temple. It’s a place for all to come and worship as they see fit, an oasis of the desert. Lush greenery somehow grows all over the temple walls, both inside and outside. Clean water flows from various crevices and forms beautiful pools.

To the far south east is the Cay of the Black Water. This ocean way is home to numerous notable and small islands, but its also most notably known for it's pirates. Dead Man's Refuge is a striking castle built onto one of the large islands. It was designed for beauty, with waterfalls crashing over it's edges into the ocean waters. This was once the home of a rather cruel lord who enslaved the native people thriving on the riches of gold they could find on the island. Over time though, this secret became a target for the pirates and slowly a new empire began to emerge here. A close neighboring island is the Port of Lost Souls. Both of these combined have become a large central hub for pirates to store their goods, make a brief stop on land to rest, repair their ships, and set sail once more. There are endless ways to find illicit goods and barter in the darker purchase the land has to offer. The islands are incredibly dangerous to traverse even for those enlisted to a ship. Numerous other small islands are slowly growing as the pirate population grows.
